This 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS is a red-over-red sport coupe, purchased by the seller in 2019. It features a 496ci V8 engine, a Tremec five-speed manual transmission, and a 9″ rear end with a limited-slip differential. Enhancements include an Edelbrock intake manifold, MSD ignition components, a billet serpentine pulley system, a heavy-duty clutch kit, an aluminum radiator, and long-tube headers with Flowmaster mufflers. The car rides on a modified suspension and 15″ American Racing mag-style wheels over four-wheel disc brakes. Inside, the cabin is equipped with front bucket seats, a retro-look Bluetooth stereo, and Kicker audio components. Recent 2023 maintenance included replacing the rear main seal, various engine gaskets, the fuel tank, and the radiator. The modified Impala SS comes with service records and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in red with polished bodyside trim and chrome bumpers, featuring quad headlights, dual side mirrors, and twin antennas on the rear quarter panels. Detailed photos of the paint and trim are available in the gallery.

The 15″ five-spoke mag-style wheels from American Racing are fitted with 225/70 Michelin Pilot tires. The modified suspension includes tubular front control arms, rear coilovers, and a panhard bar, while braking is managed by hydroboosted four-wheel discs.

Inside, the front bucket seats and rear bench were reupholstered in red vinyl. Features include vent windows, metal trim accents, a center console, a retro-look digital stereo, and Kicker amplifier and speakers.

The two-spoke steering wheel is positioned in front of a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. A tachometer is mounted on the steering column, and the five-digit odometer reads 70k miles, with approximately 2k added by the current owner. The total mileage is unknown.

Installed in May 2020, the big-block 496ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake manifold, MSD ignition components, an aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, and a billet serpentine pulley system. In April 2023, the rear main seal, spark plugs, fuel tank, and various engine gaskets were replaced.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a Tremec TKO600 five-speed manual transmission with a heavy-duty clutch kit and Hydramax throwout bearing conversion. The 9″ rear end is connected to a two-piece driveshaft and includes a limited-slip differential, while long-tube headers lead to a dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers.
