Noteworthy features encompass black-painted 19-inch wire wheels adorned with dual side-mounted spares, lustrous chrome bumpers, turn signal indicators, an eagle hood ornament, a wire mesh grille guard, cowl lamps, a windshield visor, running boards, rear-hinged aft doors, a body-colored rear luggage trunk, a heater, a rear-view mirror with an inset chronometer, and a rear footrest. An oil change was conducted in May 2024. This AE Independence sedan is presently available for purchase via dealer consignment, accompanied by refurbishment records and a clean Illinois title under the owner’s name.
The AE Independence, manufactured in 1931, featured a 109-inch wheelbase, extending 2 inches beyond the preceding Series AD. This particular specimen was repainted in champagne during the 2000s following body and rust restorations, and showcases chrome bumpers, an eagle hood ornament, a wire mesh grille guard, dual horns, turn signal indicators, cowl lamps, an integrated windshield visor, running boards, rear-hinged aft doors, a black roof panel, a body-colored rear luggage trunk, and dual taillights.
The black-painted wire wheels are accented by chrome Chevrolet-branded hubcaps and are shod with 4.75-19 Goodyear bias-ply tires. Matching side-mounted spares, equipped with mirrors, are affixed to the fenders. The AE Independence was equipped with semi-elliptical leaf springs at all four corners, and braking is facilitated by four-wheel mechanical drum brakes.
