This 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS sport coupe has undergone extensive cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment prior to its acquisition by the current owner in 2023. It’s powered by a 409ci V8 engine with dual four-barrel carburetors, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car sports a red exterior with a black vinyl interior and features a limited-slip differential, boxed frame rails, a PerTronix distributor, 14-inch steel wheels, heavy-duty suspension, drum brakes, dual triplet taillights, front bucket seats, a full-length center console, an AM/FM radio, a tilt steering wheel, and a heater. The Impala SS is now being offered on dealer consignment, complete with a removed fuel pump, hubcaps, a refurbishment binder, and a clean Arizona title held by the current owner’s trust.

Originally finished in Palomar Red (948) from the factory, the car was repainted during its refurbishment. The styling is highlighted by chrome bumpers, bright trim, headlight surrounds, quad headlights, dual triplet taillights, Impala SS badging, and a recessed tail panel.

Body-colored 14-inch steel wheels with hubcaps are fitted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The SS models came equipped with a heavy-duty suspension, which included revised front and rear coil springs and shock absorbers. The car features drum brakes on all four wheels, with new brake lines, wheel cylinders, and a dual-circuit master cylinder installed during the refurbishment, as noted by the selling dealer.

Inside, the car’s front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in black vinyl, with a center console featuring SS badging separating the front seats. The interior also includes vent windows, metal trim accents, an AM/FM radio, and a heater. Sound-deadening material was added to the cabin during the build for enhanced comfort.

The replacement two-spoke steering wheel is positioned in front of a horizontal-sweep 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel level gauge, with an additional tachometer mounted on the steering column. The five-digit odometer reads 71,000 miles, with approximately 500 of those added by the current owner.

The 409ci Turbo-Fire V8, originally rated at 425 horsepower and 425 lb-ft of torque, features dual four-barrel carburetors that were rebuilt in 2024. The engine also received a PerTronix distributor, an electric fuel pump, rebuilt cylinder heads with hardened valve seats, and bronze guides during the refurbishment.

The engine stamp, displaying the partial VIN 204708 and the QB suffix, confirms that the car is equipped with a 409ci V8 and dual four-barrel carburetors, specifically designed for manual transmission applications.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 3.55:1 rear gear ratio. The car retains its factory-equipped boxed frame rails.
