Delivered initially to G.K. Chevrolet of Downers Grove, Illinois, this 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible has undergone a metamorphosis since its acquisition by the present custodian in 2017. At its heart lies a 327ci L79 V8 engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a replacement Positraction differential. Its accouterments include a detachable hardtop, a white convertible soft top, 15″ Rally wheels, quartet disc brakes, side-exit exhausts, a cabin heater, an AM/FM radio, chrome bumpers, and retractable headlights. Recent maintenance under the current ownership entailed the replacement of braking and suspension components, distributor, rear main seal, oil pan and valve cover gaskets, thermostat, and heater and radiator hoses. The vehicle is resplendent in maroon, complemented by white and black interior upholstery. The seller, representing the owner, now offers this C2 with an NCRS Shipping Data Report, a hardtop stand and cover, the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, reproduction labels and decals, Corvette literature, and a clear Washington title.

The fiberglass body, initially finished in Marlboro Maroon (988) at the factory, is reported to have been partially refinished by previous owners. Key features include a removable hardtop, a white convertible soft top, a domed hood, retractable headlights, chrome split bumperettes, fender vents, a driver-side mirror, and a side-exit exhaust system with heat shields.

The 15″ Rally wheels, adorned with chrome trim rings and center caps, are shod with 205/75 Hankook Optimo tires, mounted in 2017. The car boasts a fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. In 2017, the shocks, wheel bearings, and front-end bushings were replaced, followed by the upper and lower control arms, ball joints, bushings, tie rod ends, a stabilizer bar link kit, and a steering damper in 2018. Braking is managed by four-wheel discs, with the front pads, front calipers, rear rotors, and parking brake shoes replaced during the current ownership.

Inside the cabin, two bucket seats are upholstered in white, accompanied by color-coordinated door panels and a black dashboard and carpets. Amenities include a heater, a vertical push-button AM/FM radio, and lap belts. The carpeting was replaced by previous owners, with the shifter boot and console trim updated in 2018.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The gauges and the analog clock were refurbished in 2019. The five-digit odometer reads 49k miles, with approximately 4k added under current ownership.

The 327ci L79 V8, equipped with a single four-barrel carburetor, was originally rated at 350 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque. Maintenance under current ownership included replacing the distributor, spark plugs, radiator hoses, heater hoses, heater expansion tank, valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, rear main seal, timing cover, thermostat, and vacuum advance, alongside rebuilding the radiator and distributor. The battery was replaced in 2024.

The engine stamping corroborates with a 350-horsepower, 327ci L79 V8, intended for use with a manual transmission.

Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a replacement Positraction differential. The axle shaft U-joints and side bearings and seals were replaced under current ownership.
